MJB Heating & Cooling focuses on customer service

In business since 1984, MJB Heating & Cooling takes a three-prong approach to its work in the Derby community, focusing on integrity, being affordable and offering thorough service.

The company stands apart because of its “drive to do what is best for our clients no matter what,” owner Dale Rotramel Jr. said. “The difference in working with MJB comes from our quality workmanship and honest business approach.”

Family-owned and operated, MJB Heating & Cooling specializes in RHEEM (and services all other brands) for residential and commercial repairs, service and installation, covering all heating and cooling needs to make homes and businesses comfortable. The business also offers Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating ductless systems, which are perfect for room additions and zoned heating and cooling.

The company’s trained and experienced technicians can work on a building of any size to tailor a system to a customer’s comfort level and energy needs.

On the installation side, MJB guarantees:

•            A long, efficient life for your furnace or air conditioner

•            Most efficient operation over the life of your system

•            Quick installation with the finest craftsmanship

•            The most friendly and knowledgeable technicians

•            100 percent customer satisfaction

For repairs, MJB responds when:

•            Abnormal noises or odors emanate from equipment

•            Your home or business can’t keep warm or cool

•            Energy costs are out of control

•            Equipment is unresponsive

MJB Heating & Cooling offers maintenance as well through its AirDefense Plan, resulting in:

•            Potentially fewer breakdowns and costly repairs

•            Increased system life

•            Improved energy efficiency and lower operating costs

•            Comfort and ultimate peace of mind all throughout the year

The AirDefense Plan offers two scheduled maintenance calls every year to ensure systems are clean and in good working order. Free one- or two-inch filters are included at the time of service. The plan includes 10 percent discount on labor and parts. Customers who are on the plan get priority service and no overtime rates.

The plan costs $195 a year. Specialty filters for furnaces and humidifiers cost extra.

Rotramel took over the business in 2016 from founder Mike Beck, who retired last year.

The company offers 24/7 emergency servicing, paperless invoicing, interest-free financing and accepts credit cards.

A 2013 fire destroyed the company’s previous home on South Baltimore. Beck rebuilt, working out of less visible locations. Rotramel now operates on North Nelson Drive.

“In recent years, our rebranding and somewhat rebuilding of the internal team has given us a new recognition in the Derby area,” Rotramel said.

The company has had to overcome the misconception that MJB closed after the fire.

Rotramel said he foresees steady growth “due to the way in which our entire team takes care of our clients. We care more about taking care of people in their time of need than making profits.”
