HAYSVILLE – Deputy Administrative Officer Will Black has added economic development responsibilities to his current duties, until a replacement can be found for David New, who has resigned.
“I’ll be working with Planning and Community Relations Coordinator Jeana Morgan,” he said. “I’ll be getting out in the community.”
Black said he had previously worked with New when the city created a business incentives plan and is now looking forward to helping businesses interested in locating in Haysville.
“I had a development call just this morning from a business,” he said on Thursday. “If businesses call and want a certain amount of land or an existing building, we’ll look at the various facets of their operations and help them find property with the proper zoning that would fit their needs.”
Black said development questions should be directed to him, at 529-5900.
Black said the economic development director position has not been posted online yet, but the city does plan to fill it in the near future.
New had been Haysville’s economic development director for nearly four years. He resigned this month to take a position with A Box 4 U.
