Mary Jane Rains, 88, retired Sears sales clerk, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012. Visitation with family will be held 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21; a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 22, at Resthaven Mortuary.

Mary Jane was an aircraft worker during World War II and volunteered for U.S.O. She became an accomplished painter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Willis Rains; and six sisters.

Survivors include son, Mauri (Theresa) Rains of Derby; daughters, Candace Timpanelli of Merchantville, N.J., LaRue (Craig Robbins) Rains of Lakewood, Colo.; brothers, Herb Reekers of Sheldon, Iowa, Lynn (Sylvia) Reekers of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister, Gladys Dailey of Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren, Nick Timpanelli, Vincent Timpanelli, Angela Roman, Anthony Timpanelli, Carrie Rains, William Rains; great-grandchildren, Maria Roman, Louis Roman, Joseph Timpanelli, Christopher Timpanelli and Taegan Timpanelli.
