Judith Ann Hampleman was born on Oct 11, 1942 in Lyons, Kan. to Oscar and Emma Swenson. She graduated from Lyons High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Emporia State University and master’s from Wichita State University. She taught English for 27 years, primarily to Seniors at Derby High School.

Visitation will be held on Sunday September 8th at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX, from 2:00 -3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00.

Judy and Leroy married in Lyons, Kan. on June 24, 1967. She and Leroy raised their family in Derby, Kan. and relocated to Sun City, Texas in 2004.

Judy was an active member of Pleasantview Baptist Church in Derby, Kan. and First Baptist Church of Georgetown and enjoyed singing in the Voices in Praise choir. She had been an active member of many Sun City organizations, including clogging and the Georgettes, and served as a trip planner for the community association for 5 years.

Judy’s immediate family is her loving husband of 52 years, Leroy Hampleman; her son Vance and daughter-in-law Beth Hampleman, her daughter Jana and son-in-law Mark Whitaker, her daughter Jonelle and son-in-law Britt Tucker; her seven grandchildren, Emma, Grace, Daniel, Jane, Ellie, Audrey and Nathan (deceased); her sister Phyllis and brother-in-law Jim Butts, her brother William Swenson (deceased), and brother Aural (Van) Swenson (deceased).

In addition to her family, Judy had a passion for traveling the world with Leroy, reading, playing bridge, family ski trips, and fluffy Bichon Frises.
