Hillary H. Bruner

DERBY – Hillary H. Bruner, 90, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Topeka. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, at the Eskridge Cemetery.

He was born June 4, 1922 near Dallas, Texas, to Una Mcoiston and Clyde Bruner. He was two years old when, after his father’s death, his mother married Lee Healy.

He joined the Air Force in 1940, and was discharged in 1946. He then spent five years in the Air Guard. In June 1946, he married Loreda Piper of Eskridge.

They moved to Derby in 1954. He was a deputy sheriff for Sedgwick County for many years and also worked for Cessna and Boeing in Wichita. He moved back to Eskridge in Oct. 1977, and worked as a process server for WB County.

He is survived by brother, Coy Healy; niece, Leaann Neale of Cabot, Ark.; son, Jim Bruner of Eskridge; daughter-in-law, Bobbi; and his number one hobby, grandson, Jesse.
