EMPORIA – Cornelia Elizabeth Schmidt, 92, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, in Wichita. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Baker Funeral Home, Wichita.

She was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Peabody, Kan., to Hervey and Leona (Guyot) Davis. She married Rudy Schmidt on June 6, 1939, in Walton, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1986.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Virgil, Edward and Rex Davis; and sister, Darlene Loewen.

Survivors include her children, Betty Selby and Margie (Jay) Stine of Emporia, Roger (DeAnne) Schmidt of Gassville, Ark., Karen (Bill) Cowan of Derby, and Debra (Ray) Marsh of Branson, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
