As a part of the ongoing efforts to upgrade the outdoor warning system in Sedgwick County, devices in various locations around the county may be activated at times through Aug. 20.
The activation is part of the calibration process, in which the new electronic monitoring system is tuned to each individual device.
If the weather deteriorates or if residents have doubts when they hear the sirens, they should monitor weather radios and local media outlets for updates and warnings.
