HAYSVILLE – The city council’s purchase of a five-acre parcel for $140,000 is the first step forward in the South Broadway Corridor Plan.
“It’s exciting to be moving forward with the development plan,” said Carol Neugent, director of governmental services. “We’re not sure what we’ll use the property for, but it has potential for industrial or light commercial frontage.”
The property is located at 7310 S. Broadway.
Some of the proposed changes to Broadway as part of the South Broadway Plan include:
• Adding a center left turn lane from 63rd to 87th Street.
• Adding six-foot wide sidewalks on both sides.
• Upgrades to 79th Street and 87th Street intersections and possibly adding traffic signals.
• Implementing architectural design standards.
