Glen Hills dispute ends with prostitution charges

By Linda Stinnett

Two people were arrested on June 20 on prostitution-related charges, after police responded to a call of a disturbance in the Glen Hills neighborhood.

Derby Police Chief Robert Lee said officers were called to a residence at 2218 E. James, due to a disturbance. In their investigation, Lee said, officers found the disturbance was due to a dispute over payment for sexual services.

Matthew S. Gibfried, 50, Derby, was arrested and cited with patronizing a prostitute.

Emily R. Baxter, 18, Wichita, was cited for prostitution.

Both were processed through the police department and were released in anticipation of a court date in Derby.

According to Sedgwick County records, Gibfried is shown as the owner of the home at the address where the disturbance occurred.
