ROSE HILL – The school district has undertaken an effectiveness and efficiency review by the Jones Institute for Educational Effectiveness - Center for Innovative School Leadership at Emporia State University.
“We just want to make sure we’re doing things well and operating in the best fashion,” said Randal Chickadonz, Rose Hill schools superintendent.
Chickadonz said the group’s initial visit was Aug. 9.
From October through mid-January, parent/patron climate surveys were conducted to identify public perceptions and attitudes towards the school district.
Meanwhile, the district has been gathering operational information to turn over to the consultants on Jan. 27.
“It’s basically business forms, work schedules and handbooks,” said Chickadonz. “It’s background information so they’re prepared when they come for their two-day onsite visit in February.”
The group will present a summary of its findings to the school board at the April meeting, Chickadonz said.
Cost of the review is $1,000.
The Jones Institute is the same group that completed a review of Derby Public Schools in December.
