PHOTOS: Public gets first look at new Derby administrative center
Members of the Derby Board of Education toured the district’s new administrative center at their Feb. 8 meeting – which was the first public look at the completed building. Residents in USD 260 approved development of the nearly $12 million administrative building, 1550 E. Walnut Grove Rd., in 2018 as part of a package of bond projects across the district.

This wall is designed to mimic a year book page, featuring school board members and staff present and past.
Employees and visitors can purchase snacks and drinks at a self-checkout station.
The new administrative center is fit with a security camera system.

This meeting room is one of the largest in the new administrative center. It can be used for large meetings or split into two rooms for separate meetings. District staff noted that this room would work well for teacher training opportunities.
The new administrative center offers a new tornado shelter for students and staff at Tanglewood Elementary School, which is directly beside the administrative center.
