Derby’s Radio-Controlled Club held their annual exhibition at Derby’s High Park on Saturday. Fred Harvey, a longtime member of the club, said the event was low-key and just an opportunity for people to “get together and fly.”

Members and enthusiasts spent the morning flying a variety of different sizes and styles of model airplanes. Spectators on hand got to watch the R/C pilots perform stunts and just have a good time.

The event was also in celebration of National Model Aviation Day. Thousands of other model aircraft enthusiasts across the country celebrated the event on Saturday that brings together hobbyists from many local Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) clubs.
