The Derby Arts Council will host an artist reception as part of its current 150th-themed exhibit.
“Your Community Show,” 150 Years of Derby blends work from professional artists, amateurs, and youth. With over 527 pieces of art, it’s the largest show the council has hosted since beginning in 2009.
The show will run through May 8 with an artist reception scheduled 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 11. Derby Arts Council will also present awards to youth and adults by April 11.
Adult artists were able to submit work until Feb. 20. After judging, 120 pieces were selected for the show. Other pieces were submitted by Derby students in USD 260, private schools, and home school.
Art is available for free viewing at the library in the gathering space gallery, high wall gallery, and a display case in the gathering space. As part of the show, art has also been hung at Derby City Hall, the City Council Chamber Room, and the Derby Welcome Center.
