Derby City Manager Kathy Sexton has been granted a 2 percent pay adjustment as part of her annual review by the council.

The base salary will increase from $127,969 to $133,273. It is an increase of the same percentage as all city employees for 2012, according to Vaughn Nun, council president.

Sexton will also gain a onetime adjustment of $2,744 to her annual contract to cover her cost of employee health insurance. With the city moving to a self-insured plan, the city can no longer pay her health insurance costs directly, Nun said.

In addition, changes in federal health insurance regulations impact Sexton’s contracted severance agreement. The new agreement grants her one additional month of severance pay to make up for losing six months of paid health insurance in the severance package.

Superintendent Craig Wilford was granted a 1.52 percent raise this year, on the heels of a year in which he did not gain a salary increase, according to Don Adkisson, Derby Public Schools director of finance. His base salary was $136,603 for the 2010 and 2011 school years.

Wilford’s base salary is $138,682 for 2012. His health insurance pay dropped $12 a year to $5,404 and his pension  jumped from $10,892 to $12,276.
