MULVANE – Vista Host, Inc. will operate the hotel at the Kansas Star Casino as a Hampton Inn and Suites, and plans to open in early October.
“We are so excited to be part of the community,” said Meaghan White, director of service initiatives for Vista Host. “We are hoping to open the first week of October.”
White said the management company hopes to hire about 30 people at a job fair it will host Aug. 20-21.
“In September we will have front desk training, get background checks completed and get guest rooms stocked,” she said. “We want applicants to come to the job fair and submit their applications in person and have on-site interviews and go over their resumes there.”
The job fair will be held in the Mulvane City Hall Council Chambers, at 211 N. Second, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday,
White said all employees will have to be registered with the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission.
The hotel plans to hire 12-15 housekeepers, seven to eight for the front desk, four for laundry/general cleaning, one for guest services, one executive housekeeper and three to four breakfast attendants, she said.
