Local sisters make competitive
cheerleading team

By Monica Woolard

Ashley and Chelsea Rodman, both Derby High School varsity cheerleaders, have made the Extreme Athletics all-star girls national competitive cheerleading team.
Ashley and Chelsea tried out for and made the all-star team in October. The all-star team is comprised of cheerleaders from across the state of Kansas, and they will compete in national cheerleading competitions in Wichita, Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Topeka.

They are currently training for the NCA All-Star National Champi onship to be held in Dallas February 14, 15, and 16, that will be televised on ESPN.

The girls have been working hard trying to raise money for their trip, holding fundraisers such as selling Red Wheel Pizza, selling Poinsettias, and sponsoring a dance for 5th, 6th, and 7th graders.
